Going to a new church for the first time is a bit like starting at a new school. Will I be dressed properly? What will everybody look like? Where should I sit? More importantly (at church at least) is will we sense God here? Will we meet with Jesus? These were some of the questions that flooded our heads as we entered a new church for the first time.

What might help is: more information about the life of the church on photos, clear and upfront information about the church with each active area of focus explained and a pictorial ‘who’s who’; and inclusion of specific activities or ministries in our corporate prayers during services.

Each of us need to take that step (beyond our comfort zone) of reaching out to a new face, introducing ourselves, and persisting with invites and offers of fellowship, until the newcomers have found a place that they feel at home in. Come and let us dote on you!
